May 22, 2013 at 1:00 PM EDT

Programming and Partnerships for Health

When it comes to fitness, beautiful spaces aren’t enough.  Using parks to get healthy takes encouragement, outreach, instruction, and good programming.  Panelists will discuss some of the best urban park fitness programming examples throughout the country, and how the parks community and health care industry can effectively work together.  They will also show how concrete data can reposition park agencies as leaders and catalysts in promoting a cultural shift towards greater health and wellness and improving quality of life. For Let’s Move! Cities, Towns and Counties participants, this webinar provides information on how partnerships can enhance your efforts to achieve Goal V: Active Kids at Play.

Speakers:

  • Jamie Bussel, Program Officer, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (Princeton, NJ)
  • Ty Houck, Director of Greenways, Greenville County Recreation District (Greenville, SC)
